How did Mountain of Mercy form?
It was the Tsunami disaster is Sri Lanka which initiated the core setup of Mountain Of Mercy in 2005. Two founder members of MOM visited Sri Lanka in the Month of January. After visiting the affected areas, on mutual agreement, the decision of starting a Charity was made to help victims of all disasters.
What does Mountain of Mercy do?
Mountain of mercy has been involved in relief efforts in countries such as Sri Lanka and Pakistan and has been involved in short term and long term projects such as reconstruction of houses, boats, financial support for the purchasing of tents for emergency shelters after the Pakistan earthquake. Our focus throughout the year has been primarily in Sri Lanka where several projects were undertaken. Our aim is to work on projects for disaster victims either through house rebuilding, supporting orphans/widows or families that are poor and require financial support. Our aim is to work with local communities and work on social development and economic enhancement.
